Our Story

Born from Silverton's Spirit

A lodge built by mountain people, for mountain people.

Est. 2002

A Home for the High Country

Kendall Mountain Lodge opened in 2002 with a simple purpose: give the growing wave of hikers, skiers, and rail-riders coming to Silverton a clean, affordable, and welcoming place to sleep. The town needed it. The mountains deserved it.

Over twenty years later, the lodge is still run on those same principles. We're on Blair Street — Silverton's historic main drag — a two-minute walk from the Narrow Gauge Railroad depot and a short stroll from the Kendall Mountain ski lift. We've hosted solo adventurers, photographer crews, honeymoon couples, and everyone in between. They all have one thing in common: they came for the mountains.

What We Stand For

Community First

Silverton is a town of 600 people. We hire local, buy local, and send guests to local businesses. This lodge exists because of the community around it.

Adventure Ready

Early morning starts, gear storage, trail maps, and honest beta on current conditions. We're set up for the way mountain travelers actually travel.

Honest Value

We keep prices real because we believe the San Juans should be accessible to everyone — not just people with big travel budgets.

Leave It Better

We partner with local trail maintenance crews and pack out what we bring in. The mountains that draw guests here are worth protecting.

Come Stay With Us

Private rooms and dorm bunks. Open year-round. Dogs welcome with prior approval.
